Artwork

What materials do you use to create your original artwork?

Mixed media collage originals are with a variety of mediums, including paint, oil pastels, modeling paste, stencils alcohol inks, art papers, ink stamps, and more. They are finished with archival fixative and two coats of archival gloss varnish.

Watercolor painting originals use professional-grade watercolors (Winsor Newton) on Arches 140# cold press. All original watercolors are sprayed with a fixative to preserve the colors for many years.

While there there is a limited quantity on remaining originals for sale, a majority of the mixed media collages and watercolor paintings are available as fine art prints and cards, made by professional printers with archival inks on fine art paper with a satin finish. All fine art prints have a 0.5″ margin to allow for mat and frame.

What materials do make to create your jewelry?

Each Shine Jewelry piece is hand-crafted and unique –no two are alike! Ordinary hardware store washers or common dominos serve as the base for many of our pieces. They’re created with alcohol ink for color and texture, and then they’re finished with epoxy resin to add depth and shine. My jewelry are also unique in their colors, markings, and makings and they’re embellished with silk tassels, leather tassels, metallic gears, and dozens of varied types of beads and chains. I would describe the different styles as elegant, Boho, and Steam Punk.

An original artwork or jewelry piece is no longer in stock. When will it be available again?

All my originals and Shine Jewelry pieces are one-of-a kind creations. I apologize in advance if an item you wanted to purchase is taken. I do my best to update the shop as artwork and jewelry are sold and new ones are created. If the item you wanted is no longer available, please feel free to message me and we can find something similar for you to love. I’m constantly creating new pieces in my studio!

Also, keep in mind that I do offer fine art prints and cards of my originals as well. Prints are made by professional printers with archival inks on fine art paper with a satin finish. Check them out here!

Can I stop by your studio to view your artwork and jewelry?

My studio is not generally open to the public, but it’s possible to come by appointment. If you would like to stop by, please send me a request, and we can find a time that works for us both!

Additionally, I do have several Studio Open Houses each year. Follow BrownEyedAmusings on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on upcoming announcements!

Can I find your work anywhere besides this website?

I relocated to a new city in May of 2020. Since then, I have focused on getting my new studio set up. I’m not currently in any retail locations or galleries due to COVID. I plan to be at several art fairs this coming summer 2022, so watch for those announcements on my social media pages. (Follow BrownEyedAmusings on Facebook and Instagram!)

I am gifting my order to someone. Do you offer personal messages?

If you find the perfect gift for someone special, I am happy to send your purchase directly to that person. At checkout, please write in your desired message in the notes and provide your giftee’s mailing address, and I’ll be happy to enclose a card with your sentiments!

Can I use your work on my conference materials, website, or in my newsletter?

No, please do not use my artwork or digital images. Everything on this website is copyrighted. If you’d like to tell people about me, please give them the link to my site. I appreciate the support!

Will you donate something to my fundraiser or event?

Although I’d like to, I am unable to donate items to everyone who reaches out. I privately support causes close to my heart.

Where did you go to art school?

I attended UW-Madison (LONG time ago) with a major in art and advertising. After working a few years in advertising, I was fortunate enough to work from home while raising three kids. I had loads of creative outlets during that time –being a mom often requires some creativity! However, my greatest outlet was as a set designer and Executive Director for our local community theatre.

Orders

What payment options do you accept?

I accept all major credit cards as payment. I am unable to accept money orders or checks at this time.

How much do you charge for shipping and when can I expect my order?

Shipping on all BrownEyedAmusings orders is FREE! Orders are carefully packaged and shipped via USPS, with tracking provided for USPS Priority mailings. I do not offer expedited shipping at this time, but I do ship out orders twice a week to ensure you get your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, I’ll send you an email letting you know your package is on its way. It should typically arrive within 3-5 business days.

Please confirm that your shipping address is correct before placing your order. If you realized you submitted an order with the wrong mailing address, message me directly at browneyedamusings@gmail.com ASAP. Note that I am not responsible for orders shipped to the wrong location or for any lost or damaged items.

Do you ship internationally?

Unfortunately, I only ship within the US and do not ship internationally. Prints are more likely to get damaged during longer shipping routes, and international postage often costs far more than the prints themselves. However, if you live outside the US and find something you particularly love, message me to see if we can work something out!
